A cause for action

We may not often think about it this way but we actually engage with uncertainty very often, from choosing what to eat for dinner to investing on a new home. Yet when it comes to our “big” pursuits such as launching a new business, asking for a promotion, or taking the year off to explore the world, we use uncertainty as an excuse to shy away.

We’re not quite sure how this new business will be received so we never start.

We’re not quite sure how our boss will respond so we stay silent.

We’re not quiet sure of how this innovation will be embraced so we never ship.

We’re not quite sure how our insight will play out so we think the worse and lose an opportunity to make things better.

The reality is that there are uncertainties all around us. Uncertainties about our health, relationships, career, the economy, and the longevity of our planet. But such uncertainties are not a cause for inaction, they’re the reason we show up.

It’s our curiosity and ability to imagine what’s possible in the midst of an uncertain future that drives us to innovate, connect, and do work we’re proud of.

Go. Take action.
