Ship it faster

If you had to get your project completed or product launched in half the time you originally planned, what would have to change?

Quality:

What’s good enough?

Are your expectations and need for perfection slowing you down?

“I need to get it just right” is an excuse. It's a sneaky way of hiding from our work. Resist the urge to want to dot all your I's and cross all your T’s.

If it's good enough to get the ball rolling, put it out. You'll learn to pivot as you go.

Tools:

What tools can you leverage to get parts of your project done faster?

There are plenty of tools that can help you streamline a few processes, from sending emails to sharing documents with team members. Stop trying to reinvent the wheel. Here are some of my favorites:

Need to send an email campaign or automate your blog updates to your subscribers? Check out Mailchimp. You’d be surprised how much you can do with a free account. And you can always transition to a paid subscription for more robust features like creating automated drip campaigns and detailed customer journeys. Best of all, you're guaranteed to have awesome customer support along the way and insightful educational content to get you started faster than it takes you to peel a banana.

How about appointments or check-ins with clients or team members? If you need to better way to communicate quickly with team members, a collaborative way to edit documents, an easier way to schedule appointments with your prospects, or the ability to have face-to-face contacts with team members regardless of geographic location, check out Slack, Evernote, Calendly, and Zoom.

Community:

Who do you know?

The likelihood of you knowing someone who can help you with a part of your project, whether it be providing valuable feedback or actually doing something better than you ever could, is high. Don't be afraid to ask around. You'd be surprised how many people would gladly help to be a part of something meaningful.

Now that you have a new bag of tools and ideas to get your project out faster, ship and repeat. Go. Make something meaningful.
