Value allocation

There are two types of busy people. One has skin in the game. This person is focused and has figured out a way to get stuff done. The stuff that really matters. The second type of busy person is simply putting on a show. He's distracted, hiding, and busy contemplating his work.

What's the difference between these two types of busy individuals? Value allocation.

Every day, each of us makes decisions that put a value on our time and attention. How and where we choose to allocate these assets say a lot about what we value. More importantly, they influence the way we show up in our relationships, the work we do, and the impact we have.

Remember, time and attention are scarce.

There are only so many hours a day for us to physically and emotionally engage with the things that matter most to us. So when we consistently choose to spend our limited time and attention on things that push us farther away from our best work, we’re missing out on an opportunity to learn and make something special.

Our best work deserves our time and attention. Our families, relationships, and meaningful projects deserve our time and attention.

What deserves yours?
